  • Core Sponsorship picks up the award for the An Post Irish Book Awards at the European Sponsorship Association Awards
  • An Post Irish Book Awards also won the Best Newcomer and Arts and Culture awards
  • Core Sponsorship won a further award for Strong Roots in the Media Sponsorship category

Core Sponsorship, part of Core, Ireland’s largest marketing communications company, was awarded four awards at the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) Awards, including winner of the overall Sponsorship of the Year Award. This event, hosted by the European Sponsorship Association, recognises industry excellence right across Europe.

In 2018, Ringers Creative developed the #ReadersWanted platform for The An Post Irish Book Awards and have collaborated with Core Sponsorship, Core Creative and Starcom over the past two years. The campaign picked up three awards at the ceremony held in London, in categories, Best Newcomer, Arts and Culture and the Grand Prix European Sponsorship of the Year.

Speaking about the winner, the judges said “The An Post Irish Book Awards were recognised by the judges as an outstanding new sponsorship. Built on strong customer insight and a clear business challenge, the sponsorship was able to deliver the desired results with great speed. The care given to the activation of the partnership was apparent and allowed this application to stand out as ESA’s Sponsorship of the Year.”

Louise Cronje, Sponsorship Manager at An Post, said; “At An Post, our brand purpose is to act for the common good, to improve the quality of life in Ireland now and for generations to come. With this in mind, An Post are proud sponsors of the Irish Book Awards since 2018, and have worked with the collaborative team to bring #ReadersWanted to life to help more Irish people fall in love with reading. We are delighted that this work has been recognised by the European Sponsorship Association as outstanding in this field across Europe.”

Speaking about the wins, Jill Downey, Managing Director of Core Sponsorship said, “this year, Core Sponsorship celebrates its fifth birthday and we are delighted to mark this milestone with award winning work. The right mix of sponsorship valuation, a strategic platform, engaging activation and strong evaluation were the ingredients to creating high performing work and we are thrilled that this work has been recognised across Europe.”

Core Sponsorship also scooped a fourth award for the Strong Roots Media Sponsorship of Virgin Media Television’s coverage of the Guinness Six Nations.

Last week, the An Post Irish Book Awards also picked up an award for the Best Use of Video at the Digital Media Awards in Dublin for its 2019 #ReadersWanted campaign.
