The Green Kitchen café opens to the public at GPO Museum, bringing delicious food and refreshment options and social impact to one of Dublin’s most iconic landmarks

GPO Museum, the award-winning visitor attraction on Dublin’s O’Connell Street, has welcomed The Green Kitchen café, a new work inclusive social enterprise café, to the heart of one of Dublin’s most iconic landmarks. Open to both museum visitors and the general public six days a week – excluding public holidays, the vibrant new café serves up a tempting selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads, baked goods, barista style coffee and more, offering a warm and welcoming new space to pause and refuel in the city centre.
The Green Kitchen café at GPO Museum is being operated by WALK, a service provider working to empower people with disabilities to live self-determined lives in an equal and inclusive society. Through this partnership with GPO Museum, The Green Kitchen offers paid employment, training, and work experience opportunities for people with disabilities who may otherwise face barriers entering the labour market, helping to build skills, confidence, and pathways into open employment.
Located within the walls of one of Ireland’s most iconic and historically significant buildings, the General Post Office on Dublin’s O’Connell Street, GPO Museum brings Ireland’s extraordinary story vividly to life. It captures a transformative and often turbulent history, tracing a powerful journey of rebellion, resilience, and reconciliation that carries through to the modern day and into the new millennium.
Building on the success of its existing Walkinstown location, The Green Kitchen at GPO Museum brings its popular café offering to Dublin city centre for the first time. Designed as a welcoming space for tourists, museum visitors, local workers and people in the city for the day, the café serves a carefully curated, seasonal menu of freshly made sandwiches, focaccias, wraps, wholesome salads and homemade soup, alongside barista style coffees, teas and specialty drinks.
Guests can also enjoy freshly baked pastries, cakes and sweet treats, with gluten free options available. Whether stopping by for breakfast, lunch, a light bite or a coffee break, The Green Kitchen offers quality food, generous portions and friendly service in one of the country’s most historic settings.

The Green Kitchen café is open Monday – Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm
GPO Museum is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm, with last admission at 4:00pm.
Both GPO Museum and The Green Kitchen are closed on Sundays, public holidays and Christmas Eve.
