2023 donations reached almost \u20ac325,000 for Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-<\/strong><\/p>\n Wish Ireland and Community Foundation Ireland through <\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018The Magic of Christmas\u2019 fundraising initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Christmas FM, Ireland\u2019s favourite festive radio station, which officially \u2018Switches Christmas On\u2019 around the country every year, is delighted to announce that it raised \u20ac324,000 in 2023 for The Magic of Christmas appeal which raises funds for Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-Wish Ireland and a range of children\u2019s charities making a difference in communities through Community Foundation Ireland.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year’s donations are another big step towards Christmas FM\u2019s goal to raise over \u20ac1,000,000 between 2022\u20132024 for the Magic of Christmas appeal. The funds will be used to support 5,000 vulnerable children in our communities affected by traumatic life events such as poverty, abuse, neglect and bereavement, and to assist children whose lives are affected by serious childhood illness.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2023\u2019s figure brings the total amount raised by the radio station to over \u20ac3.5 million since it began broadcasting 16 years ago. Christmas FM is presented on air each year by up to 100 volunteers who devote hundreds of hours of their time assisted by a core management team.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Paul Shepherd, Co-Founder of Christmas FM, says: <\/strong>\u201cWe are absolutely delighted to have raised almost \u20ac325,000 for The Magic of Christmas appeal. We are incredibly grateful for our devoted listeners and fans who generously donated all throughout the festive season. We would also like to thank Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n for granting us the license to broadcast Christmas FM across Ireland, and our premier FM sponsors for 2023 – <\/em>Cadbury, Coca-Cola, and An Post as well as Extra.ie, <\/em>the official media partner of The Magic of Christmas appeal. We would also like to thank The Clayton Hotel Liffey Valley, who, once again, kindly donated their studio space to the station. Last but not least, a warm thank you to all the team and volunteers who make Christmas FM so special each year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Commenting on the total amount raised, the charity partners jointly said: <\/strong>\u201cWe are extremely grateful to The Magic of Christmas appeal for continuing to work with us as the official charity partners for 2023. The Magic of Christmas appeal does so much for over 5,000 vulnerable children in our communities across Ireland. It is because of Christmas FM\u2019s great work and the generosity of their listeners that \u20ac324,000 was raised in <\/em>2023.
